The Grace Onaiwu Omoigui Elder Care Centre (GOOECC) was founded in honour of the late Vice Chairman of DAGOMO Foundation Nigeria, Barr. Mrs. Grace Onaiwu Omoigui in 2016 with the sole aim of improving the quality of life of the elderly in the society.
The GOOECC is a model for the set up of a chain of elderly day-care centres across various communities where the elderly could access free and subsidized basic primary healthcare services.
Exercise, Basic Health Checks
Weekly exercise, and games for the elderly to at the GOOECC that features physical exercise, a variety of outdoor and indoor games, and other fun activities.
Caregiver Training and Placement (Online and Physical
The DAGOMO Caregiver Training program is a monthly certificate caregiver training program in Benin and Lagos that aims to equip individuals with necessary basic caregiver skills for the Elderly, Sick, and Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s).
The objective is to improve the Quality of Home Care, received by the elderly, sick, and Persons with disabilities, and to help fill the shortage of caregivers across primary health centres, across Nigeria as a result of brain drain.
